marijuana one seed two sprouts

The main drawback to growing from seed is there is no guarantee as to what you’ll end up with—if you buy a regular pack of cannabis seeds, it will be a mix of males and females. You’ll need to sex them out (more below) to identify the males and get rid of them, because you don’t want your females producing seeds.

Cannabis seeds require three things to germinate: water, heat, and air. There are many methods to germinate seeds, but for the most common and simplest method, you will need:

Pros and cons of using cannabis clones

You can also minimize headaches and avoid the hassle of seed germination and sexing plants by starting with clones.

Because they grow and flower quicker, growers can fit in multiple autoflower cannabis harvests into the span of one regular harvest.

These are referred to as “bagseeds” and whether or not you can grow one will depend on where it came from.

Twin tap roots can sometimes emerge from one cannabis seed. This is sort of like your seed having twins, because each new root has the potential to form into a separate plant! It's not incredibly rare to get twins, but it is pretty neat to see it happen in person!

A few days later after being transplanted to a new container, the plant is healthy and growing strong. At this point it's a little under 3 weeks from separation of its "twin" 🙂

After the seedlings grow out, you have a tough choice: Separate them or pick one to keep!

From this grower, “When I got the seed it looked really deformed.”

If you grow two seedlings together in one container, their roots will become entwined and one plant will usually dominate, stunting the other one. But if you give each plant their own home, they can both thrive!

Keep growing. You're one step ahead, it's like the plant's already been topped.

Happened to me, two taproots from single seed. Chopped the tiny one as soon as it showed balls. Big female plant had been showing pistils for some time. Didn't end up herming or anything.

I was so surprised when I saw it, this morning it was barely a sprout and then when I got back from classes just a little bit ago it had somehow become two, felt like magic

That's pretty fucking neato. I'd love to see that.

Keep an eye on it.
