Full spectrum CBD Topicals FAQ’s

What is CBD cream?

CBD cream is the combination of body lotion plus a CBD extract that is obtained from the flowers of the hemp plant. Hemp and marijuana plants are identical, except that hemp contains less than 0.3% THC. CBD cream can be made with different types of hemp extracts including full spectrum CBD, broad spectrum CBD, and CBD isolate. CBD cream is most popular for direct application to comfort muscles and joints.

Can CBD lotion make you fail a drug test?

A CBD oil tincture that has been certified organic by the USDA must be verified by a third party to be grown without any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or other non-The quick answer is that the odds are low. Applying topical CBD products may not cause you to fail a drug test because the cannabinoids shouldn’t actually enter the bloodstream. Instead, the cannabinoids bind to the endocannabinoid receptors. That’s why using CBD cream has a lower risk of making you fail a drug test than using an ingestible CBD product. materials. Additionally, an organic crop rotation is required to replenish vital nutrients back into the soil naturally, instead of using synthetic fertilizers. This ensures that every cannabis plant will be free of any contaminants, and that the farmland used to harvest it will be sustainable for the years to come. Simply put, organic cannabis is better for both your body and our planet.

Is hemp cream the same as CBD cream?

Hemp cream and CBD cream are often referred to interchangeably because CBD comes from the hemp plant. However, some companies use this to their advantage to sell fake CBD products that are actually infused with hemp seed oil. Cannabinoids come from the flower of the hemp plant after harvest, not the seed. Any hemp cream that is only infused with hemp seed oil won’t actually have any CBD in it.

What does CBD cream do?

Applying full spectrum CBD directly to muscles and joints could be an effective plant-based solution for comfort.* These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

What is the best CBD cream?

For anyone looking for the most potent, most beneficial CBD cream – start by making sure the topical is full spectrum. Many CBD creams are made by infusing a lotion with CBD isolate and menthol. While this mixture might provide a warming sensation that some find soothing, topical CBD isolate is not the most effective form of direct cannabinoid application. That’s why Cornbread Hemp CBD creams are made only with the most potent full spectrum hemp extracts that contain the widest range of cannabinoids, including up to 0.3% THC.

How to Use a Topical CBD Cream

Cornbread Hemp™ CBD topicals can be used throughout the day as needed. Apply a nickel sized portion of our CBD lotion to any uncomfortable or problematic areas, then massage the cream into the skin until it is fully absorbed. Don’t worry about applying too much CBD cream – use as much as you need to until your discomfort returns. After use, rinse your hands and avoid your eyes. Sensitive areas could be irritated by the menthol in our CBD cream.

Storing Your CBD Cream

When you buy CBD lotion, proper storage and care is needed to maintain the shelf life and efficacy of the extract. Store your CBD topicals in a cool, dry place away from heat and light for the best results. If your CBD cream gets too warm or is exposed to extreme temperatures, you could risk spoiling the ingredients we use to make our body lotion. If you need to travel with your CBD cream, don’t worry! Cornbread Hemp™ products are designed to be TSA compliant and are federally legal in all 50 states.

How Full Spectrum CBD Cream is Made

The quality of Cornbread Hemp™ products begins at the seed. We hand select our non-GMO hemp genetics for the widest range of cannabinoids and terpenes to end up in our final products. After planting our hemp plants in certified organic Kentucky soil, we allow them to grow to the perfect maturity before carefully harvesting them by hand. After harvest, we separate the CBD-rich flowers from the stems and leaves of the plant before the organic sugarcane ethanol extraction process. Finally, we blend the hemp extract with our premium body lotion.

Third Party Lab Tested CBD Cream

Even though our hemp is sourced exclusively from a single organic farm, we still choose to take things a step further. That’s why we test every single batch of our CBD topicals at a third party laboratory for any contaminants.

This third party lab test includes inspections for heavy metals, pesticides, microbials, mycotoxins, residual solvents, mold, and more!

By performing this rigorous quality control process on every batch we produce, we ensure that each of our products is safe for both our family and yours.

The CBD topical market was originally filled with CBD balms and CBD salves made with whole hemp plant extract and an oil base like beeswax. These hemp-derived CBD topicals can work well for things like comforting muscles and joints, but they also leave the skin greasy after application. They tend to sit on the skin rather than fully absorb.

We immediately set out to create a full spectrum CBD lotion with no greasy residue and fast absorption. We did this by blending our USDA organic distilled CBD extract with a premium, paraben-free lotion.

Why Cornbread Hemp?

When buying a CBD cream online, there are a few key principles to follow. First, only buy from a company that has a great brand reputation and outstanding customer service. Check this by looking through their customer reviews. Second, only buy CBD products from companies who source their hemp from the USA. If you can’t find that information, don’t buy it!

Third, avoid buying products that are made with CBD isolate or broad spectrum CBD extracts. If the label doesn’t say which type they use, that’s even worse! Fourth, only buy CBD topicals from companies with a clean and safe extraction method. And finally, avoid any company that does not make their third party lab results available to be viewed.

At Cornbread Hemp, we pride ourselves on attention to detail. Our farmers grow our hemp plants in the fertile Kentucky soil. Our third-party lab partner analyses our products for cannabinoid potency, pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, and more. Hemp IS Cannabis. It is variety of Cannabis sativa that has been cultivated over time to contain very low amounts of THC. It is a non-psychoactive, and genetically distinct variety of the plant Cannabis sativa that has no use as a recreational drug. Hemp is called “industrial hemp” when grown in accordance with the 2014 Farm Bill – Section 7606.

No. Cannabis grown as agricultural hemp and Cannabis grown as marijuana are genetically distinct varieties of Cannabis, but they are the same species of plant. Some people believe that hemp comes from only the seeds and stems of a cannabis plant, but this is not true. If a plant is a hemp variety of cannabis, the whole plant is a hemp plant. Seed, stem, leaf and flower. Some Hemp is grown to be high in fiber, some is grown for seed and some is grown for flower. Once again, hemp is cannabis. It’s a cannabis plant bred for low THC but high CBD that make it undesirable as a recreational drug. The WHOLE plant is considered hemp.

ShiKai’s CBD is sourced from farms in the United States. Specifically, ShiKai buys our CBD from GenCanna™, grown in the state of Kentucky. GenCanna grows its hemp using organic practices on U.S. Hemp Authority accredited farms, free from pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. Their network of farms operates legally under state and federal regulations for industrial hemp production, processing and product manufacturing. We use this supplier because it operates a legal hemp program in a state that is fully compliant with the federal Agricultural Act of 2014, also called the 2014 Farm Bill. Legal compliance is a foundational component of ShiKai’s CBD product line.

ShiKai’s CBD isolate is collected through CO2 extraction. CO2 extraction is a process that uses pressurized carbon dioxide to pull the desired phytochemicals from hemp. This first step separates all of the plant oils, waxes, terpenes and other fat-soluble materials from the plant material. The resulting oil-based mixture then undergoes a second process during which all of the mixture’s various chemical components are separated using high pressure liquid chromatography or HPLC. What remains is pure cannabidiol in the form of white crystals or powder that has been isolated from the rest of the plant.

Does ShiKai test for microbiological contaminants, heavy metals and pesticides in the final CBD product

Yes, yes, and yes! ShiKai’s CBD Topicals are tested using the following standard test panels: Qualitative Analysis (Gross Visual/Microscopic), Quantitative Analysis (AOAC 4.1.03, AOAC 4.1.10), Microbial Analysis (BAM-3, AOAC 49.2.05, BAM-18), Cannabinoid Analysis (HPLC-DAD), Heavy Metal Analysis (6010B), Pesticide Analysis (AOAC 2007.1) and Residual Solvent Analysis (GC/MS Headspace).

Not quite yet. But we are currently ramping up a pilot program for glyphosate testing. All ShiKai CBD product batches manufactured starting March 2020 going forward will be submitted for additional glyphosate testing.

Yes. Sometimes called “regenerative agriculture” or “carbon farming,” regenerative farming is the practice of raising livestock or crops in a way that sequesters carbon and maximizes soil health. This can include no-till practices, preserving soil through the use of cover crops and crop rotations, using fewer chemicals and fertilizers, and incorporating rotational livestock grazing. In December 2019 ShiKai’s CBD supplier, GenCanna, became a founding partner of the U.S. Hemp Growers Assocation (USHGA), the only national grower-directed hemp trade association which is focused on providing educational and market development resources, research and networking opportunity to unify the voice of growers to actively engage in critically important efforts including regenerative farming practices. We applaud the farmers who are taking action in this arena.
